With each successive year as a student at Binghamton University, I arrive in the fall ready for the challenges of a new academic year and filled with excitement for the opportunities I have in store for me as a student, person, and professional. That being said, sometimes it is nice to continue with some of the things that mean something to you. This fall, I am fortunate enough to be continuing my work with The Agency. When I first started working for The Agency last spring, I was amazed to see how, behind the scenes, the hard-working staff is so dedicated to improving the economic climate of Broome County and the City of Binghamton through business expansion and retention, new development, and community outreach. Never would I have through that so much work went into creating the environment in which I study, work, eat and play. With an emphasis on approachability and fostering creativity and entrepreneurship, I found that the ideals of The Agency resonate so closely to my own, and that this would be something I would want continue to be part of. Last semester, between site visits, conducting interviews, attending public meetings and research, I was amazed as to how much is “really going on” in Broome County. As I am beginning the fall semester of my senior year, I am excited for the opportunity that lies ahead for me to further discover the qualities that make Broome County such an amazing place to thrive, and working with The Agency to make that happen.
