Jim Peduto is the managing partner of Knowledgeworx, LLC. He was the founder, owner, and CEO of Matrix Integrated Facility Management. Prior to founding Matrix, Jim was President of Roberts Maintenance Supply and began his career as an attorney.
Jim serves or has served on a number of charitable boards, including Mercy House of the Southern Tier, Binghamton Bearcats Athletic Association, Discovery Center Foundation, Goodwill Theater, Town of Union Local Development Corporation, and the Binghamton Country Club.
As regional president Peter is responsible for one of M&T Bank’s twenty eight regions, with a geography encompassing the 10 counties running along New York’s Southern Tier including the cities of Corning, Elmira, Ithaca, Cortland and Binghamton.
Peter enjoys a high level of community engagement. He recently completed a 10 year term on the board of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce that included serving as the organization’s board chair. He is please to serve as a member of The Agency board of directors. In addition to The Agency, community involvement includes serving as a director for: Mercy House of the Southern Tier, United Health Services Hospitals, Greater Binghamton Education Outreach Program, current chair for the Binghamton University Forum, and Binghamton Country Club. He has previously served as trustee for Community Foundation for South Central New York, Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Broome Community College Foundation, UHS Foundation, Treasurer for Union-Endicott Education Foundation, and finance committee chair for Church of the Holy Family. In 2014, Peter was recognized by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce as Civic Leader of The Year.
He received his Bachelor of Arts, Economics from Bucknell University ’89 and his Master of Business Administration, Finance from Binghamton University, SOM ’98.
Peter resides in Endwell, New York with his wife, Jacquelyn. They have three grown boys.
Joseph Mirabito is
President and CEO of Mirabito Energy Products. Joe is a graduate from LeMoyne
College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Joe is currently a Board
Member for the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, a Director for Corning Natural
Gas and an advisory Board Member for Central NY Region of Community Bank. Joe
is a past President of the Empire State Petroleum Association (ESPA), a member
of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA) and the National
Association of Convenience Stores (NACS).
His community involvement includes, past Chairman of the Greater
Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Sidney Chamber of
Commerce, past Director of the Sidney Chamber of Commerce, and past Director of
the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce.
Joe was a recipient of the 2010 Carl Tripi Award from NYACS for his “low-profile, high impact” approach to making a difference in the convenience store industry. He also received the 2008 LeMoyne College Frank Fernandez Business Leader of the Year Award.
Elaine Miller led the Binghamton Housing Authority as Executive Director from 2016 through 2021. Since joining the Housing Authority, Miller focused on expanding quality affordable housing in the community, and in 2020 opened a new $21 million mixed use project with 48 affordable apartments and commercial space on the ground floor featuring community services. This new development, named Canal Plaza, was built on the North Side of Binghamton on an environmentally contaminated site that was cleaned up as part of the project under the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program. Miller also oversaw millions of dollars in modernization projects at the Housing Authority.
Concurrent with her tenure as Executive Director, Miller served as CEO of two affiliated not-for-profits – Broome County Gang Prevention Inc., and Community Potential, Inc.
For three years prior, Miller was the Commissioner of Planning & Economic Development for Broome County where she led a department of professionals providing technical planning guidance and assistance to county leadership. During her tenure in that position the department developed a long-term Comprehensive Plan for Broome County, the first of its kind in 50 years. Under Miller’s leadership, the department oversaw the development and construction of a Regional Farmer’s Market on Upper Front Street in the Town of Dickinson. Miller was also a founding board member of the newly established Broome County Land Bank.
Previously, Miller spent eight years with the New York State Department of State, Division of Communities & Waterfronts, where she helped launch the Brownfield Opportunity Area’s Program, (BOA). Miller worked in partnership with communities throughout Central and Western New York to foster area-wide redevelopment and return blighted land to productive use, while restoring environmental quality. Miller managed dozens of projects where state resources were provided to achieve brownfield redevelopment planning, access to expert environmental and economic analysis, and environmental site assessments for strategic redevelopment parcels. Miller also worked closely with the NYS Regional Economic Development Councils, particularly those in the Central NY and the Finger Lakes regions, whereby tens of millions of dollars were won in competition with other areas of New York State for new job creating development projects.
Prior to joining the Department of State, Miller was the Deputy Mayor of the City of Binghamton for more than 10 years. In that capacity, she was involved in all aspects of city operations and administration. During that same time, Miller served as Vice president of the Binghamton Local Development Corporation, which was founded to encourage the location and expansion of manufacturing, commercial, and professional office operations, creating job opportunities for local residents and leveraging private investment in the community.
Miller has also held positions involving government finance and regional planning. She holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Public Policy Analysis from Binghamton University.
Miller currently serves on the Board of directors at Broome County Catholic Charities and as Chairwoman of the Board for Broome County Gang Prevention, Inc.; Previously, Miller served on many other Boards, including the Koffman Southern Tier High Tech Incubator, and the Broome County Land Bank. She received a Medal of Distinguished Service from Binghamton University Alumni Association in 2013, and is a recipient of the 2003 Delta Award for excellence in Public Service, conferred by the Binghamton University, Masters in Public Administration program.
Miller is a lifelong resident of the South Side of Binghamton, residing with her husband, daughter, father, and grandson.
Michael Sopchak is a retired homebuilder and realtor. He is a graduate of The College of William and Mary.
He has taught school, worked in industry, was a Broome County legislator, and is currently member of the Broome County Land Bank, where he is treasurer.
Daniel W. Gates is Owner, President and CEO of Broome Bituminous Products, Broome Tioga Bituminous Products, and BTC Concrete Supply. Dan started working summers for the family business while in high school and full time after graduating from college. Dan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1987 from Hobart College. While in college he met his wife of 33 years and have raised their four daughters in their Vestal home.
A native of Vestal and graduate of Vestal High School, Dan is and has been active in the community as a lacrosse coach for Maine Endwell High School from 1988-1994, and past president of the Geneganslet Lake Association. Dan is committed to his community which also includes being a member of Binghamton University’s Athletic Board and is a current member of The Broome County Advisory Board at Tioga State Bank.
