Broome County in the summer is a great place to be. The weather is beautiful, embodying that ideal ‘sunny and 75’ with clear skies, and every weekend holds something to do that only the Southern Tier offers.
\n\nDo you have an indulgence for traditional Mediterranean food and live entertainment? The St. Anthony’s Italian Feast Days in Endicott or the Greek Festival in Vestal were your places to be the first two weekends in June. Have an affinity for the local food scene, but want to hit multiple restaurants in one day? The downtown Binghamton Wine and Tapas Tour offered great deals on a delicious menu of appetizers and drinks from select local eateries earlier this month.
\n\nIf that wasn’t enough, the Binghamton Zoo hosted the 13th Annual Zoo Brew last weekend, transforming our zoo into a hub of local and regional beers. And if you didn't get a chance to check that out, Animal Adventure in Harpursville is set to host Drafts with Giraffes Saturday June 25th where you can enjoy a wide variety of brews surrounded by the wide variety of animals at the interactive park.
\n\nIf you prefer to spend time enjoying professional sports, head over to NYSEG stadium to watch our very own Binghamton Mets play various nights this summer. You can even follow select pro-golfers as they compete in the 10th Annual DICK’s Sporting Goods Open at Enjoie Golf Course in Endicott Wednesday July 6th through Sunday July 10th. And be sure to buy your ticket now for the three-time Country Music Award-Winning band Florida Georgia Line, performing there on Friday July 8th.
\n\nThe local fun will undoubtedly take you through to the 32nd Annual Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally Friday August 5th to Sunday August 7th at Otsiningo Park. With food, games, live music, and special guest appearances, it’s definitely an event you’ll want to be part of.
\n\nSo get out there and join in everything the Southern Tier has to offer in the upcoming months! Between the nice weather, festivals, and one-of-a-kind events, who would want to be anywhere else than Broome County this summer?
