Binghamton University Named a Cyber Research Center – CNYBJ Eric Reinhardt
Binghamton University has been named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research (CAE-R) through 2025 by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This designation recognizes the work of the Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity (CIAC) on Binghamton University’s campus. Read more here.

New York schools are drafting plans for the fall amid COVID. Here's what they look like - Binghamton Press & Sun Maggie Gilroy
School districts across New York are re-inventing plans for school for this coming fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Local school districts are beginning to come out with their plans, such as Binghamton City School District which has released their draft plan and hosted a webinar discussing the plan with parents and members of the community this past week. Elmira City School District has yet to release their draft plan but has set up an online survey for students, parents, and staff to complete. Ithaca is giving families and students two options to approach the school year. Read more here.

Indoor malls in NY: Oakdale Mall in Johnson City has an opening date – Binghamton Press & Sun Katie Sullivan Borrelli
After an influx in demand for state approved air filters postponed the Oakdale Mall reopening, the Johnson City Mall has since received and installed their MERV 13 Air Filters and are open for business beginning Friday, July 31. The mall hours going forward will be 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM Monday – Friday and noon to 6:00 PM on Sundays. Read more here.
