Old Dominion Freight Line to Develop 20-Acre Site in Broome Corporate Park

Binghamton Business News

Old Dominion Freight Line (ODFL), a leading national freight company, is set to purchase a 20-acre site in the Broome Corporate Park to construct a state-of-the-art cross-dock logistics facility. The site, which has remained vacant since the park’s establishment in 1984, will soon see new development that supports economic growth and job creation in the region.

ODFL plans to build a 32,000-35,000 square-foot cross-dock facility on the land. This development is expected to create approximately 50 new jobs, further contributing to the economic vitality of Broome County and the Town of Conklin. The project has successfully navigated the necessary rezoning and site plan approval processes with the Town of Conklin, marking a major milestone for the development’s progression. Montante Development assisted with the site selection process.

“We are thrilled to see Old Dominion Freight Line investing in our region. This development not only enhances logistics capabilities but also strengthens the economic vitality of Broome County. The addition of ODFL to our community is a testament to the confidence in our area as a hub for business growth,” said Stacey Duncan, CEO of the Leadership Alliance.

“It’s exciting to see long-vacant land in the Broome County Corporate Park being transformed into an opportunity for economic growth and job creation. We look forward to welcoming Old Dominion Freight Line to Broome County and seeing the positive impact this will bring to our community, said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar.

The Broome Corporate Park, strategically located for industrial and commercial development, has been a cornerstone for business expansion in the area. This project marks one of the final remaining sites at the park to undergo development.
