Agency Board Approves Riverside Gardens Project at Former Davis College

Binghamton Business News

The Broome County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors voted to approve PILOT benefits for the Square Deal LLC project, Riverside Gardens, located in the Village of Johnson City.

Riverside Gardens will revitalize the former Davis College property by blending residential living with commercial spaces in a vibrant, inviting environment. The development will feature 67 housing units equipped with fitness, gaming, and recreation centers, as well as amenities open to the public, including a restaurant, gymnasium, and outdoor grilling area. Security measures will include advanced technology like surveillance cameras and key fob access, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

The project will focus on revitalizing existing structures and transforming former dormitories and offices into modern apartments that meet today's market demands. Functional units will be maintained within their current footprints, with selective conversions of office spaces, houses, and dorm rooms.

Square Deal Partners are deeply committed to the community. As residents and investors, they have witnessed firsthand the challenges the small towns and villages have faced due to business closures.

With new businesses returning to Broome County, their goal is to preserve the area's rich history while fostering growth as an innovative center. By welcoming industries such as education, service, and healthcare, Riverside Gardens is well-positioned to contribute to the local economy and enhance the lives of its neighbors.

The project will create 155 new construction jobs totaling $4.1 M in annual wages. This project will create seven new full-time jobs with a total payroll of $677,040 over three years.
