The trend in housing seems to be changing. According to studies recently released by the Brookings Institution, the suburbs are on the rise again.
"Urban core population growth is trailing off, and exurban population growth is surging. In 2017, the number of homeowning households increased by over a million while the number of renting households fell, the first drop in renting households since 2004."
The challenge now focuses on policies involving transportation, education, and infrastructure. A shift in where the population wants to live can change where they want to work, and where they want to play.
