Since our rebrand last year, we’ve spent much of our time introducing the community to an economic development organization with a new way of thinking and operating, focused on a simple and positive objective - for all of Broome County to #thrivenow.
The vision of becoming the “dynamic and approachable driver of economic development” in Broome County is vision of service – because we know that when you succeed, our community does too.
Healthy communities have healthy economies, and in an ever-changing and mobile economy, businesses have unique financial challenges unlike ever before. According to an International Economic Development Council (IEDC) survey of economic development organizations nationwide, business retention and expansion has become the number one economic development activity.
As a “central intelligence” gathering resource, our BR&E program will provide value added information on the economic climate in Broome County. At the core, it is what we do each and every day, but now with strategic and measurable objectives. Looking at key industry sectors, we are looking to connect businesses with the public and private finance tools needed to mitigate the challenges of doing business in a high-cost state.
The program is simple: let us spend an hour with you and have a Candid and Confidential conversation about your business needs. From there, we can identify partners to move you forward in what suits your business best. In fact, one of our most important measures of success will be in our ability to connect businesses with resources they might need outside of finance and incentives. These could include access to workforce training, business plan development, advocacy and networking opportunities, and regulatory assistance.
At the end of the day, there is one goal - to help you Plan, Build, Expand and Thrive.
Economic development is a conversation. We hope you’ll start one with us today.
