Catch The Broome County Pride

Binghamton Business News

Do you feel it? It’s catching.

\n\n

There is a contagious pride for our hometown going around.

\n\n

Within the last few years, there seems to be a less of a focus on what our region once was and more of an excitement about what is here, as well as what is to come for the Southern Tier.

\n\n

And why wouldn’t this be the case? Broome County is a great place to be for so many reasons. I’ve highlighted a few of them in my past blogs this summer.

\n\n

What I’m referring to this time around, however, is the positive and electric way people have started promoting and getting involved in everything there is to see and do in our area.

\n\n

This is visible in heavily publicized, anticipated and attended community events like the First Friday Art Walks in Downtown Binghamton celebrating our local arts scene each month, the DICK’S Sporting Goods Open, and the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally, which have become the go-to concert venues of summer.

\n\n

This tangible pride for the Southern Tier is most apparent through social media, where it seems like every day I come across another account on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram celebrating our area.

\n\n

Binghamton University, What’s Goin’ On Binghamton, The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Binghamton Airport, us here at The Agency, and so many more are consistently taking to social media to promote how special this area is and all the good things constantly going on here—and with good reason!

\n\n

We live in a pretty cool place and you can make sure people here, and all over New York State, know that by doing things as simple as following these accounts, supporting local businesses and talking up the Southern Tier, whether in person or through your own social media.

\n\n

Share Bing Pop’s Facebook post promoting the LUMA Lights Festival taking place on State Street in a few weeks. Download and sign up for The Loop or CommuniKey to get deals at select restaurants and businesses all over Broome County. Instagram that picture of the fantastic crepe you had at Crepe Heaven in Johnson City, or that amazing rigatoni you enjoyed at Consol’s in Endicott.

\n\n

Be a part of the celebration of Binghamton! By doing these kinds of simple things, you can make sure that everyone catches this contagious pride for Broome County.
